Fantastic second book in this alien love story. Jessica, our heroine, is adorably full of spunk and sass, and head over heels in love with David. The author does a fantastic job at weaving these two lives together. The adventure in this book is rip-roaring. She uses cinematic phrasing, a little pop culture, and vivid descriptions to bring each scene to life. It was effortless to imagine the alien planet, the metallic ships, the sandy desert. The action was fast-paced and breathless, and so were the scorching kisses. I don't know how Jess and David are going to be able to have a happy ending, but the story is so compelling I can't wait to read the rest to find out.

I received Ashes in the Sky in return for an honest review as part of the tour hosted by Chapter by Chapter.

David is gone and Jess just wants life to get back to normal but everyone is so curious to find out about her alien encounter. Jess hasn’t heard from David since they all left knowing that he’s got to prove to his people that they can terraform Mars and keep earth safe. However, being normal just doesn’t seem to be working for Jess because while Earth is safe she’s not done with the aliens yet. When she’s called to meet with an Erescopian who wants Jess to travel on their ship taking pictures due to the interest of his people.

Given the chance to shoot a once in a life time series of pictures Jess jumps at the chance while her father is less than thrilled. However a chance to see David is too hard to pass up after all she’s been missing him. However her trip aboard the spaceship will be anything but a vacation as she learns the truth about the terraforming. Will they be able to stop what’s happening?

I like Jess and David they are one of my favorite human and alien couple it just works perfectly. While they may have only had a whirlwind romance when they saved Earth the first time around they now have more time with Jess on the ship. While they have this sweet relationship it’s clear that that even though they aren’t the same species they have that magical chemistry and are willing to risk it all.

I’ve been impatiently waiting for Ashes in the Sky to come out so that I could see what would happen with David and Jess next. I found the concept unique it’s an interesting twist on the idea of aliens bringing a new story that captures the imagination. The characters are great you can’t help falling in love and connecting with them. Ashes in the Sky is another well written installment it’s action packed right from the start filled with enough mystery to keep you guessing and just enough romance to balance it out. I’ve very much enjoyed the authors story telling it’s a beautiful story and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one. I've been thinking about it while I'm not a fan of them typically I think I need an Edgar. High recommend for all fans of young adult romance.

Wow! Jennifer M. Eaton is my favorite author. This book is 2nd in the series and starts exactly where it ended. She draws you right back into Jesse ' s world. 5 Stars and a must read. The adventures of Jessica and David make this book a finger turning page. I can see this as a Sci fi movie from Hollywood for ALL ages.
Fast paced sequel. Easy to read and submerse yourself into. Couldn't put it down until I finished it. Different concepts in the teenage love model that require deep feelings. I loved the spider!
Loved book 1 so much that I tore into book 2 right away! There is no sophomore slump here! Ashes has got non-stop action and had me sneaking in chapters at work. Jessica and David's romance deepens, and I absolutely love seeing how they deal with all the obstacles thrown their way. If you love aliens, romance, and action packed stories, you'll love this. Now I have to wait a few more weeks for book 3. Ugh!
I loved this sequel to Fire in the Woods so much! It is definitely on par with, if not better than, it’s predecessor. It was even more action packed and was completely out of this world, literally!

I obviously can’t get too much into the plot of this book but I can tell you that it takes place 2 months after the end of Fire in the Woods but I can talk about a few bits and pieces. In this installment we get more romance, more alien technology, more witty banter, more selfless David, and definitely more stubborn Jess. We also get to really delve into the alien world building side of the story. In the first book we really only get a glimpse of what the Erescopians are and the technology they possess but in Ashes we get to see so much more and Jennifer’s storytelling and wonderful descriptions really shine. I said this with Fire in the Woods and I will say it again, I love how visual Jennifer’s writing style is because it is so easy to picture what is happening. Also, Edgar is my new favorite thing ever. I think we need plush versions of him as swag for this book!

My favorite thing about these books is that they wrap up very well and though there are plot points that obviously demand another installment we get a full book with no huge cliff hangers. I am interested to see what new galaxies book three will take us too because I am DYING to get my hands on it!

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good alien book or anyone that needs an easy fun read to shake up their reading life. These books are perfect for reading any time of the year and will appeal to almost anyone, in my opinion. Please, pick up Fire in the Woods and give this series a shot, it is awesome!
